The 15-Day Thailand Island Hopper is the complete Thailand journey. This extended group tour gives you the time to properly experience the country’s cities, islands and wild landscapes without rushing from place to place. You’ll move from Bangkok’s temples and tuk-tuks to the Andaman Sea, into the rainforest of Khao Sok Lake, and across the Gulf of Thailand to Koh Samui and Koh Tao. With an ULTIMATE Group Leader handling transport, timing and logistics, you’re free to focus on snorkelling, beach days, jungle adventures, nightlife and unforgettable moments with your group.

Note: This is a partner tour. It’s not operated directly by ULTIMATE Travel, but delivered by our trusted ground partners in Thailand who specialise in running outstanding small-group adventures. They manage the on-ground logistics, transport and guiding throughout the trip. This is a social Thailand group tour with shared accommodation. Most travellers stay in multi-share dorms, with limited private or twin room upgrades available on request.
The majority of travellers join solo. Groups are mixed genders and made up of travellers from all over the world.
This tour is designed for travellers aged 18–35 who want a deeper, longer Thailand experience, with a balance of included adventures and free time across multiple regions.
The 15-day duration means a relaxed pace overall, with space for both active days and slower beach or recovery days built into the itinerary.
Some nights are social and lively, particularly in island destinations, while others are laid-back. There is no pressure to party or opt out — you choose how you experience the trip.
Vegetarian meals are widely available throughout Thailand. Vegan and other dietary requirements can be more limited in some areas and may be simpler in style.
We recommend travelling with a backpack or soft-sided luggage, as the itinerary includes boats, ferries, internal flights and multiple accommodation changes.
Thailand weather can be unpredictable, and ferry schedules or activities may change due to sea or weather conditions. Your Group Leader will manage any necessary adjustments.
Full Moon Party dates do not always align with tour departure dates. This itinerary is not built around Full Moon Party timing.
Optional activities may be available at various stops and can be organised locally with your Group Leader, subject to availability and conditions.
Return or onward transport at the end of the tour is not included and can be arranged via the booking page or with your Group Leader during the trip.
Visa & Passport Requirements: It is your responsibility to ensure you meet Thailand’s entry requirements, including passport validity and obtaining the correct visa (if required). We’ll organise your airport transfer so your arrival into Bangkok is smooth and stress-free.

Airport pickup is available from Suvarnabhumi International Airport (Bangkok).

The Ultimate Thailand group tour starts in Bangkok on Day 1 of the itinerary at 5:00pm. We recommend arriving into Thailand on Day 1 or earlier. You can add pre-tour nights when you book online, or chat with our Ultimate team to organise extra nights.

Before your Thailand group tour, make sure you have the necessary travel insurance and visa to travel to Thailand. You must provide your arrival date, time and flight number so we can organise your airport transfer.

To book this Thailand group tour, select your chosen departure date and choose any add-ons you’d like, including additional nights, a private room upgrade and/or arrival or departure transfers (where available).

If you have a travel date in mind but you’re not ready to pay in full, you can secure your spot with a $300 deposit. The remaining balance is due 45 days prior to your trip.

Wake up in the heart of one of Asia’s most vibrant cities. Start the day exploring Bangkok from a local perspective: wander through peaceful temple grounds, cruise through historic canals, and learn about Thailand’s culture and traditions. Visit Wat Arun and Wat Pho — two of the country’s most iconic temples — then take a fun tuk-tuk ride back to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to roam markets, shop, relax, or hit the bars and street food stalls around Khao San.

The Ultimate Thailand 16-Day group tour includes 14 nights of accommodation across Thailand’s cities, islands and jungle regions.

Most nights are spent in social, shared dorm accommodation (8–10 bed dorms) in well-located hostels, many with shared bathrooms and communal spaces designed for travellers.
You’ll stay for 2 nights in a hotel in Bangkok at the start of the trip, followed by hostel stays across Phuket, Koh Phi Phi, Krabi, Koh Samui and Koh Tao.
A highlight of the tour is a unique overnight stay at Khao Sok Lake, sleeping in floating bungalows surrounded by rainforest and limestone cliffs.

Do I need vaccinations?

Consult a GP. Hepatitis A vaccine strongly recommended, rabies pre-exposure optional, bug spray recommended in Bangkok for dengue. Organise vaccines 4-6 weeks before travel.

Can I book extra nights?

Can you help me organise flights & insurance?

Do I need a visa?

Citizens of 41 nationalities, including Australia, NZ, UK, USA and most of Europe, can enter Thailand without a pre-arranged visa.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Vegetarian, vegan & gluten-free diets?

Vegetarian options widely available. Vegan diets possible but more challenging, particularly in rural areas and islands. Gluten-free has limitations due to soy sauce and gluten in condiments.
