Accommodation

Enjoy 13 nights of accommodation in shared standard rooms, staying close to your placement and local amenities. Accommodation is comfortable, clean and social, giving you the chance to relax, connect with fellow volunteers and experience everyday life in Cambodia.

Arrival Pick Up

On arrival to Siem Reap Angkor (SAI) International Airport a representative will meet you to help organise your shuttle to town where the program coordinator will pick you up and take you to your accommodation, making your first day stress-free and easy after landing.

Transportation

All transport required for your volunteering programme is included as per the weekly schedule, ensuring you can travel safely and reliably between your accommodation and program.

Meals

Meals are included throughout your stay, with three good-sized meals provided on weekdays and two meals per day on weekends. Expect a mix of local cuisine and familiar options.

Materials & Tools

All materials, and resources and required for your placement are provided, so you can focus fully on the project.

Cultural Session

On the Monday of your first week, you'll take part in an orientation day designed to help you settle into life in Cambodia. You'll also learn about Khmer culture, local customs, and basic language skills to help you communicate with the local community.

Local Tour & Onwards Travel

Our Construction Program is focused on supporting local schools and communities by improving essential facilities and creating safer, more functional spaces. As a volunteer, you'll gain hands-on experience working on a variety of projects, such as renovating classrooms, upgrading sanitation facilities, constructing pathways, and enhancing community spaces. The work you take part in will depend on the needs of the community at the time, making every day varied and rewarding.

What Will I Actually Be Doing?

EXAMPLE ITINERARY

This Construction Volunteer Program includes an airport pick up on Sundays from SAI (Siem Reap Angkor International Airport).

To join the program as scheduled, you should arrive on Sunday between 06:00 and 20:00 so you can catch the included transfer from the airport to the starting accommodation. If you arrive on Saturday, you will need to book one additional night of accommodation before the program begins and the transfer would not be included. 

Please make sure you provide your arrival date, flight number and arrival time in advance so we can organise your airport transfer and prepare for your arrival.

Your volunteer program officially starts on Monday, however your accommodation begins from Sunday so you can settle in, meet fellow volunteers and get ready for the week ahead.

Sunday Arrival

Arrive into Siem Reap and meet your transfer as part of the scheduled Sunday airport pick up service. Once you arrive at the accommodation, you can settle into your room, meet the local team and relax after your journey. This is a good chance to get familiar with the guesthouse, the local surroundings and the other volunteers joining the program.

Monday Orientation and Introduction

Your first full day begins with an introduction meeting where you will go through house rules, important expectations, health and safety guidance and practical information for your stay. The local team will also explain how to look after your important documents and settle into the accommodation comfortably.

You will then be introduced to Cambodian culture through Khmer do's/ don'ts  - and a culture lesson.

End the day by exploring Siem Reap's bustling Pub Street and vibrant Night Market, two of the city's most popular attractions.

Tuesday to Friday Volunteer Work

After breakfast, you'll travel to the project site, which may be at a local school or community facility. Each morning, your coordinator will outline the day's tasks and provide guidance before work begins.

You'll then spend around 4–5 hours working alongside the local team on a variety of meaningful construction projects. Tasks may include renovating classrooms, repairing buildings, painting, constructing pathways, improving sanitation facilities, or enhancing outdoor spaces, depending on the community's current needs. A well-earned lunch break will give you time to relax and recharge before returning to your accommodation or continuing with the day's activities.
