Once booked, our local partners will be in touch before departure with arrival details, trip notes and final pre-departure information.

ABOUT YOU

This trip is designed for travellers aged 18–35 who want more than a quick snapshot of Thailand. Some travellers join straight after a shorter tour, others arrive ready for a full two-week adventure. You’ll enjoy this tour if you’re social, flexible and keen to balance adventure with downtime — whether that’s snorkelling all day, kayaking jungle lakes, exploring islands or unwinding with sunset drinks and beach nights. If you want to travel deeper, slower and with a great group, this trip is built for you.

TRAVEL STYLE

This is a social, small-group Thailand tour with a relaxed but immersive pace. Days include a mix of guided experiences and free time, giving you space to explore independently while still covering the must-see highlights. Accommodation is shared and social, transport is smooth and varied, and the itinerary flows naturally from region to region. It’s adventurous, but not exhausting — designed for travellers who want variety, not chaos.

GROUP VIBE

The group is made up of travellers from around the world, with many joining solo. The vibe is social and easy-going — some nights are lively, others are chilled, and there’s never any pressure to do everything. Whether you’re snorkelling together, sharing meals, or exploring islands at your own pace, the group naturally bonds over the longer duration of the trip. By the end, it feels less like a tour and more like a travelling crew.

WHAT MAKES THIS TRIP DIFFERENT

This isn’t a highlights sprint or a one-size-fits-all itinerary. The 15-Day Island Hopper combines Thailand’s iconic experiences with time, depth and flexibility — from floating bungalows on Khao Sok Lake to multiple island regions across both coasts. With an ULTIMATE Group Leader and 24/7 in-country support, you get the confidence of a fully organised trip with the freedom of independent travel. It’s the most complete way to experience Thailand in one seamless journey.

> ITINERARY

Day 1 | Bangkok

Arrive in Bangkok and head straight to your hotel with a smooth airport transfer. Settle into your room, refresh, and start getting to know the group. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner — the perfect icebreaker — before heading out to experience Bangkok’s electric nightlife. From rooftop bars to hidden back-street gems, your first night in Thailand sets the tone for the adventure ahead.

Activities: Welcome dinner & night out

Day 2 | Bangkok

Wake up in the heart of one of Asia’s most vibrant cities. Start the day exploring Bangkok from a local perspective: wander through peaceful temple grounds, cruise through historic canals, and learn about Thailand’s culture and traditions. Visit Wat Arun and Wat Pho — two of the country’s most iconic temples — then take a fun tuk-tuk ride back to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to roam markets, shop, relax, or hit the bars and street food stalls around Khao San.

Activities: Bangkok temple tour & canal trip

Day 3 | Bangkok to Phuket

Swap the fast-paced capital for island life as you fly south to Phuket. The moment you arrive, you’ll feel the energy shift — warm sea air, palm trees, and a relaxed beach vibe. The afternoon is free to explore local food spots, swim, or chill. Later, join the group for optional drinks and a night out exploring Patong’s infamous Bangla Road — neon lights, music, and a nightlife scene like nowhere else in Thailand.

Activities: Free time in Phuket

Day 4 | Phuket → Koh Phi Phi

Cross the Andaman Sea to Koh Phi Phi, one of Thailand’s most iconic island destinations. After checking in, spend the afternoon exploring at your own pace — stroll the beachfront lanes, grab a fresh fruit shake, relax on the sand, or hike up to the famous Phi Phi Viewpoint for sunset. As night falls, the island comes alive with beach bars, fire shows and dancing under the stars, creating an atmosphere you’ll only find in a true backpacker paradise.

Activities: Phi Phi arrival & free time

Day 5 | Koh Phi Phi

Spend the day exploring Phi Phi’s legendary bays and dramatic limestone cliffs on a full-day island-hopping and snorkelling adventure. Swim in crystal-clear lagoons, drift through Pi Leh Lagoon, spot wildlife at Monkey Bay, and unwind on the white sands of Bamboo Island. With lunch included and plenty of time for swimming and snorkelling, it’s one of the trip’s standout experiences. The evening is free to enjoy dinner, beach bars, and Phi Phi’s buzzing nightlife scene.

Activities: Full-day Phi Phi snorkelling tour

Day 6 | Koh Phi Phi → Krabi

Say goodbye to Phi Phi and make your way back to the mainland, arriving in the beautiful region of Krabi. Settle into Ao Nang, a chilled beach town known for its coastal views, great food and relaxed atmosphere. Spend the afternoon however you like — wander the beach, treat yourself to a Thai massage, or dive into the local street food scene. The evening is free to unwind or head out with the group if you’re keen.

Activities: Free time in Krabi

Day 7 | Krabi

Head out to Hong Island, one of the region’s most stunning natural highlights. Cruise across clear turquoise waters, snorkel alongside vibrant marine life, and climb to the island’s viewpoint for wide-reaching panoramic views. With time to relax on the sand or explore hidden lagoons and coves, it’s easily one of the most scenic and memorable days of the trip.

Activities: Hong Island day trip

Day 8 | Krabi → Khao Sok Lake

This marks the end of the 8-day adventure, but for those continuing, the journey shifts inland to the heart of the jungle. Travel to Khao Sok Lake, a serene natural escape framed by dramatic limestone cliffs and dense rainforest. After lunch at Smiley Lake House, the afternoon is yours to kayak across the lake, swim in emerald waters or simply relax at your floating bungalow. Dinner is included, and the evening is all about slowing down and enjoying the peaceful surroundings — a perfect contrast to the island days.

Activities: Khao Sok Lake transfer, swimming, kayaking

Day 9 | Khao Sok Lake → Koh Samui

Begin the day with an early morning lake safari, gliding across calm waters as the mist lifts and the jungle comes to life. After breakfast, travel east towards Koh Samui, passing through lush landscapes before crossing the Gulf of Thailand. Once you arrive, check into your accommodation and enjoy a free evening. Chaweng is the island’s nightlife hub, offering beachfront bars, music and a buzzing atmosphere if you’re keen to head out.

Activities: Lake safari & travel to Samui

Day 10 | Koh Samui

Set off for a full-day adventure at the spectacular Ang Thong Marine Park. Paddle through hidden lagoons by kayak, snorkel in clear waters, hike to panoramic viewpoints, and unwind on secluded beaches. It’s one of Thailand’s most breathtaking natural areas and a true highlight of the trip. Lunch is included, and you’ll return in the evening ready to relax back at your accommodation.

Activities: Ang Thong Marine Park day trip

Day 11 | Koh Samui

Enjoy a full free day to do exactly what you feel like. Stretch out on the beach, chase waterfalls, join an optional activity, wander through Fisherman’s Village or treat yourself to a Thai massage. Koh Samui gives you the freedom to slow down, explore at your own pace, or fully lean into island life.

Activities: Free day in Koh Samui

Day 12 | Koh Samui → Koh Tao

Hop aboard the high-speed catamaran to Koh Tao, a laid-back island famous for its snorkelling spots, scenic viewpoints and unforgettable sunsets. After arriving, spend the afternoon settling in — check out local cafés, stroll along the beach or simply relax after the journey.

Activities: Travel to Koh Tao

Day 13 |  Koh Tao Snorkelling

Jump aboard a snorkelling tour around Koh Tao and Nang Yuan — two of the most beautiful spots in the Gulf. Explore coral reefs, float in bright blue bays and spend time on Nang Yuan’s famous sandbar. With lunch included and plenty of time in the water, it’s the perfect final adventure before the trip winds down.

Activities: Koh Tao & Nang Yuan snorkelling tour

Day 14 |  Koh Tao Free Day

Enjoy a full free day to explore Koh Tao at your own pace. Visit Freedom Beach, trek to a viewpoint, rent a scooter, grab a smoothie bowl, or just relax by the ocean. Koh Tao is slow, sunny and ideal for doing whatever feels right on the day.

Activities: Free day in Koh Tao

Day 15 | Tour End

Your Thailand adventure comes to an end. After two unforgettable weeks of beaches, temples, nightlife, sightseeing and new friendships, it’s time to say goodbye. Continue exploring Thailand, link up with travel mates, or begin your journey home with memories you’ll talk about for years.

Your Group Leader can help you organise onward travel at the end of the tour, including ferries, buses or flights to your next destination. You can also plan onward travel independently or add selected transfers during the booking process where available.

WHO WILL I BE TRAVELLING WITH?

Whether you’re travelling solo or with a mate, you’ll meet like-minded travellers from all over the world on this Thailand Group tour. Group sizes vary with each tour however we like to keep things fun yet personal so you’ll be travelling with no more than 30 others.

DO I NEED VACCINATIONS?

We recommend making an appointment with your GP to discuss which vaccinations will be needed for your trip.

The Hepatitis A vaccine is strongly recommended. Rabies pre-exposure vaccination may be an option, but not essential.

Malaria isn’t common in the areas we visit, but stock up on bug spray in Bangkok as there are other diseases such as Dengue that are more common.

We recommend organising all vaccines at least 4-6 weeks before your trip to Thailand.

CAN I BOOK EXTRA NIGHTS?

If you need additional nights before or after your trip, just add them to your booking when you checkout.

Not sure if you need extra nights? Get in touch to chat with a member of the crew before or after you book.

CAN YOU HELP ME ORGANISE FLIGHTS & INSURANCE?

Sure! We recommend searching and comparing flight prices using Skyscanner.com – get a flight quote.

Find the best insurance policy for your Ultimate adventure with the help of our recommended travel insurance provider.

WHAT ABOUT THE FULL MOON PARTY?

There are also some epic Half-Moon parties on the island that take place in the middle of the jungle! If your tour dates align, we'll also give you the option to join the party!

Check out our guide to the Koh Phangan Full Moon Party here.

DO I NEED A VISA?

In some cases, yes, and the process is very easy!

Citizens of 41 different nationalities, including Australia, NZ, UK, USA and most of Europe, can enter Thailand without a pre-arranged visa. This ‘visa exemption’ allows you to stay 30 days when entering Thailand by air, and 15 days when crossing into Thailand by land.

It's worth noting that without proof of an onward ticket and sufficient funds for your expected stay any visitor can be denied entry. For more information about 60-Day Tourist Visas, Visa Extensions and Visa Runs check out our Thailand visa info here.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY FLIGHT IS DELAYED?

If your flight arrival information changes, please let us know as soon as can so that we can rearrange your airport transfer. You can give us a call or email us with the updated date, time and flight number. If your flight is delayed, please find the relevant contact number to call on your Welcome Booklet to adjust your pick up time.

VEGETARIAN, VEGAN & GLUTEN-FREE DIETS?

Vegetarian
Yes. We can cater for vegetarian diets on our Ultimate Thailand itineraries, and Thailand is generally very vegetarian-friendly. Many local dishes are rice- or noodle-based and can be prepared without meat, and tofu and vegetable options are widely available. Please make sure you advise us of your dietary requirements at the time of booking so this can be communicated to our guides and suppliers in advance.

Vegan
Vegan diets are possible but can be more challenging, particularly in rural areas and on islands. While larger cities and tourist hubs are more familiar with vegan requests, many Thai dishes commonly include fish sauce, oyster sauce, eggs, or other hidden animal products. As a result, vegan meals may be limited, simpler, and sometimes quite bland compared to standard or vegetarian options.

If you are travelling as a vegan, please be aware that:

  • Vegan options may be limited for some included meals
  • Meals can be repetitive or basic
  • You may need to organise some meals independently
  • Hidden ingredients and cross-contamination can be difficult to avoid

Gluten-Free
Gluten-free diets can also be accommodated, but with limitations. While rice is a staple in Thailand, soy sauce and other condiments commonly used in Thai cooking often contain gluten. In smaller towns and less tourist-focused areas, awareness of gluten-free requirements can be limited.

If you are gluten-free:

  • Options may be restricted for included meals
  • There is a higher risk of cross-contamination
  • Some meals may be very simple or repetitive
  • You may need to supplement with your own snacks or meals

We strongly recommend advising us of all dietary requirements before travel and being flexible while on tour. Our guides will always do their best to assist and communicate your needs, but availability and understanding can vary significantly depending on location and local kitchens.

If you have strict dietary requirements or medical-level food restrictions, we encourage you to contact our team before booking so we can help you assess whether the Ultimate Thailand itinerary is suitable for you.

CAN ANYONE BOOK ULTIMATE THAILAND?

Ultimate Thailand is aimed towards travellers aged between 18 to 39 years old looking to experience the best of Bangkok and Southern Thailand in a guided tour.

WHERE WILL WE BE STAYING?

Our local accommodation has been selected to offer a unique experience in Thailand. You’ll be staying in a combination of budget hotels, an overnight sleeper train, a floating bamboo raft house and a beachside hideaway.

IS AIRPORT TRANSFER INCLUDED ON ARRIVAL?

Airport transfer is included in your trip! Just make sure you let us know your flight arrival date, time and flight number at least 14 days before your tour is due to start. Two weeks before your tour we will send you an email with detailed information about your arrival in Thailand, airport transfer, accommodation and where to meet your group.

ARE THERE MEALS INCLUDED?

We like to have a great mixture of some meals included and times for you to experience the local Thai cuisine! For a breakdown of what meals are included check out the trip notes!

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO TRAVEL TO THAILAND?

Thailand is a great country to visit all year round! As the country is so vast different weather systems spread out across the region. So if you're visiting at a certain time of the year and the weather is due to be hot and dry in Bangkok, you may experience a little rain in the southern islands. Not to worry though, if rain does occur it usually does not last very long and can be a relief from the heat!

WHAT WILL HAPPEN AFTER MY TOUR?

All good things must come to an end. Your Thailand group tour finishes on the laid-back island of Koh Tao, giving you a flexible base for onward travel. From here, you can return to Bangkok, travel south to the islands, or continue your adventure elsewhere in Thailand or Southeast Asia. Onward travel can be organised locally with your Group Leader during the tour or planned independently.

Below are the most common options once your tour finishes:

Travel via Koh Samui
One of the most popular options is to take a ferry from Koh Tao to Koh Samui, then fly onward to Bangkok or another destination. Ferries can be booked with assistance from your Group Leader, while flights from Koh Samui Airport will need to be pre-booked separately. We recommend allowing sufficient time between ferry arrival and flight departure, as schedules can vary.

Travel via Surat Thani (Mainland)
For a more budget-friendly route, you can travel by ferry from Koh Tao to the mainland via Surat Thani, then continue by bus or flight to Bangkok or elsewhere in Thailand. Ferry and bus transport can be arranged locally, with onward flights from Surat Thani needing to be pre-booked. This option usually involves longer travel times but can be cheaper.

Continue Your Travels
Koh Tao is a great launching point for further island hopping or travelling north or south through Thailand. Whether you’re heading to Koh Phangan, Koh Samui, Bangkok, or beyond, your Group Leader can offer advice and help arrange transport towards the end of the tour.

When planning onward travel, we recommend allowing extra time between connections and avoiding tight same-day international flights where possible. Ferry schedules and sea conditions can change, so flexibility is key.

VEGETARIAN, VEGAN & GLUTEN-FREE DIETS

Vegetarian

  • We strongly recommend advising us of all dietary requirements before travel and being flexible while on tour.

CAN I BOOK ANY EXTRA NIGHTS WITH MY TRIP?

If you need additional nights before or after your trip, just add them to your booking when you checkout.

Not sure if you need extra nights? Get in touch to chat with a member of the crew before or after you book.

WHAT ABOUT THE FULL MOON PARTY?

Your Ultimate Thailand tour ends in Koh Phangan, home to the legendary Full Moon Party!

Some Ultimate Thailand tour dates coincide with the Full Moon Party. If your tour lines up with a Full Moon Party we'll make sure your group can attend.

There are also some epic Half-Moon parties on the island that take place in the middle of the jungle! If your tour dates align, we'll also give you the option to join the party!

If your Ultimate Thailand tour does not line-up with any “official” Full Moon parties, no need to worry! We always organise Ultimate parties for you in Koh Phangan regardless!

Check out our guide to the Koh Phangan Full Moon Party here.
