TRIP OVERVIEW

Want to tick off Europe’s coolest capitals in two weeks, without planning a thing? Our Central Europe Adventure takes you from London to Venice by rail, riding the Eurostar to Amsterdam then heading through Berlin, Prague, Budapest and Vienna before an overnight train drops you in the canals of Venice. It’s a small-group trip with an epic Group Leader handling the tickets, check-ins and logistics, so you can focus on the history, the nightlife and the Ultimate moments. With 2-3 nights in most stops, you get real time to explore each city.

ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE

The 14-Night Central Europe Adventure packs six of Europe’s most iconic cities into two epic weeks. You’ll cruise Amsterdam’s canals, walk the line of the Berlin Wall, feast at a medieval tavern in Prague, soak in Budapest’s thermal baths, take a spin at Vienna’s historic Prater Park and ride the overnight train through the Alps, before gliding through Venice on a traditional gondola.

Note: You’ll meet your fellow travellers in the group WhatsApp chat in the weeks before departure, then in person at King’s Cross Station in London on the morning of Day 1, before catching the Eurostar together.

ABOUT YOU

This trip is built for travellers aged 18–30 who want to see the best of Central Europe in two weeks without organising a thing. Whether you’re travelling solo or with mates, it suits curious, social people after history, culture, food, nightlife and bucket-list moments – with free time to do your own thing.

TRAVEL STYLE

This is a social, small-group rail adventure (5–20 travellers plus your Group Leader). Your Group Leader handles the trains, seat reservations and check-ins, and runs the included activities, while you get free time in every city to explore at your own pace. Expect a few walks of up to 30 minutes with your backpack between stations and hostels – nothing too strenuous.

ARRIVAL INFO

Make your own way to King’s Cross Station on the morning of Day 1 to meet your Group Leader and the group, then walk across to St Pancras to catch the Eurostar to Amsterdam together. As the tour leaves early, we recommend arriving in London the day before. The tour finishes in Venice after breakfast on Day 15. Once you’ve booked, we’ll send you all your pre-arrival tour information.

Day 1 | London

Europe-Group-Tour-London

Your adventure kicks off bright and early at King’s Cross Station in London, where you’ll meet your Group Leader and the crew you’ve been chatting to in the WhatsApp group. From there it’s a short walk to St Pancras to board the Eurostar under the Channel, arriving in Amsterdam (around 6 hours) in time for your first night together. Flying in from overseas? Arrive at least a day early – we can sort pre-tour accommodation in London for you.

Days 2-3 | Amsterdam

Amsterdam is all canals, gabled houses, bikes and cosy brown cafés – and it’s the perfect place to get to know your group. You’ll kick things off with an included welcome drink, then cruise the canals on an included boat trip before tucking into a plate of poffertjes (mini Dutch pancakes). The rest of your time is yours: rent a bike and ride like a local, visit the Anne Frank House, lose yourself in the Van Gogh Museum or Rijksmuseum, or explore the bars of the Jordaan. From here, you’ll take the train to Berlin, around 6.5 hours.

Days 4-6 | Berlin

Europe Group Tour Berlin

Berlin is gritty, creative and like nowhere else – a city where you can stand where the Wall once divided East and West, then party until sunrise. Your included guided walking tour brings the city’s wild history to life at the Brandenburg Gate, the remains of the Berlin Wall and Checkpoint Charlie. With extra time, dig deeper at the Topography of Terror museum, check out the street art in Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain, grab a currywurst, or join a pub crawl to see Berlin’s legendary nightlife. From here, you’ll take the train to Prague, around 5 hours.

Days 7-8 | Prague

Prague looks like it’s been pulled straight out of a fairy tale – Gothic spires, cobblestone lanes and a castle towering over the river. It’s also home to some of the best (and cheapest) beer on the planet, so make sure you try a proper Czech pilsner. Your included Medieval Tavern Show is a night to remember, with a five-course feast, drinks and entertainment from sword-fighters, fire-breathers and belly dancers. With extra time, explore Prague Castle for epic views over the city, cross the Charles Bridge at sunrise, try a trdelník (chimney cake), or go underground on a Nuclear Bunker & Communism tour. From here, you’ll take the train to Budapest, around 7 hours.

Days 9-11 | Budapest

Europe Group Tour Budapest

Budapest is one of Europe’s most underrated cities. Split by the Danube into hilly Buda and buzzing Pest, it’s packed with stunning architecture, hearty food and a nightlife scene that’s hard to beat. Your included visit to the Széchenyi Thermal Baths lets you soak in steaming outdoor pools surrounded by grand yellow buildings – the perfect cure after a big night. With extra time, bar-hop through the famous ruin bars built inside abandoned buildings, cruise the Danube at night when Parliament is lit up, explore the Great Market Hall, or climb up to Fisherman’s Bastion. From here, you’ll take the train to Vienna, around 3 hours.

Day 12 | Vienna

Vienna is all imperial palaces, grand coffee houses and classical music – with a surprisingly fun, young side too. Make sure you tuck into a Wiener schnitzel and a slice of Sachertorte or apple strudel. Your included visit to Prater Park, one of the oldest amusement parks in the world, comes with a ride on one of its classic attractions. With extra time, tour the incredible Schönbrunn Palace, watch the Spanish Riding School’s Lipizzaner horses, or wander the grand Ringstrasse. This evening you’ll board the overnight train to Venice, around 8 hours – a proper Europe bucket-list moment.

Days 13-15 | Venice

Buongiorno, Venice! You’ll roll in on the morning train and check straight into your hostel so you can freshen up before hitting the canals. Venice is a city built on water, and the best way to see it is to get lost: wander the back lanes, cross the little bridges and duck into a bacaro for cicchetti (Venetian tapas) and a spritz. Your included gondola ride is the perfect way to toast the end of the trip. With extra time, tour the Doge’s Palace, check out the gold mosaics inside St Mark’s Basilica, hop over to colourful Burano, or explore Cannaregio for a taste of real local life. Your tour finishes after breakfast on Day 15 – ask us about extra nights or continuing on to Rome.

Where does the tour start and finish?

The Central Europe Adventure starts in London and finishes in Venice. You’ll meet your Group Leader and the rest of your group at King’s Cross Station early on the morning of Day 1, then catch the Eurostar to Amsterdam together. The tour finishes in Venice after breakfast on Day 15.

What’s included in the trip?

What’s the accommodation like?

You’ll stay in top-rated, centrally located hostels in shared, mixed-gender dorms with your fellow travellers, plus one night on the overnight train between Vienna and Venice.

Is this trip right for solo travellers?

Absolutely – most travellers join solo. Shared dorms, group activities and the pre-departure WhatsApp group mean you’ll make mates fast. The trip is designed for 18–30 year olds who want a social trip without the planning.

Are flights included?

No, flights aren’t included. You’ll need to book a flight into London and home from Venice. As the tour leaves early on Day 1, we recommend arriving in London at least a day before – we can arrange pre-tour accommodation for you.

Is travel insurance included?

Travel insurance isn’t included and is compulsory for this trip. Please organise your own cover before you depart.

How does payment work?

You’ll pay a 20% deposit at the time of booking to lock in your date, and your final balance is due 60 days before your tour starts.

Will I have free time to explore on my own?

Yes – alongside the included activities, you’ll have free time in every city to explore, shop, eat and do your own thing. Your Group Leader will have plenty of tips on where to go.

Are there optional activities I can book on tour?

Yes, each city has optional extras like the Anne Frank House, Prague Castle, a Budapest ruin bar crawl, Schönbrunn Palace and the Doge’s Palace. Your Group Leader can help you sort them out on the road.

What happens if there’s a strike or transport disruption?

You’re covered by Travel Disruption Protection – if a strike or similar disruption affects the trip, alternative transport is arranged and included at no extra cost.

Can I extend my trip before or after the tour?

Yes – we can book extra nights in London before the tour or in Venice after it finishes, subject to availability. Just let us know when you book.
