Teaching with a twist! Help students your own age with your advanced English skills, in a two-way teaching – learning process that will allow for great cultural exchange!
Teach English! Native and advanced level speakers will help students improve vocabulary, spelling, pronunciation and fine tune their overall knowledge of English. You will assist your peers – mostly hospitality and tourism students, 16-25 years old, in a mutually beneficial, two-way learning process and cultural exchange.
Five steps, start to finish. Our local team looks after you from the airport to your last day.
1Choose any Sunday start. A $300 deposit holds your spot and the balance is due 45 days before you go.
2Your pre-departure pack covers visas, insurance, the police check, what to pack and arrival times.
3Fly into Ho Chi Minh City (SGN). We pick you up, take you to the volunteer accommodation and you meet the crew.
4Monday is orientation. Then 4 to 5 hours a day, Monday to Friday, helping hospitality students practise English.
5The Mekong Delta, Cu Chi Tunnels or nearby beaches. Add onward travel with us at a discount.

How the price works: the program price is shown in the booking panel, then a 1.75% online booking fee is added at checkout — that's the price you see on the program page. You'll see both lines before you pay. No card surcharges, and nothing is added after that.
Once you've booked, we'll send your booking confirmation along with important information about your program.

Booking with ULTIMATE is easy! We take payments securely via Mastercard or Visa Credit and Debit Card and we will charge you in Australian Currency (AUD). Your deposit is flexible and if you can no longer travel, you can save your deposit for a later trip or destination if you notify us 30 days before your scheduled program date.

What is the criteria to participate?
The Vietnam Teaching Volunteer Program is open to participants from a wide range of backgrounds who are enthusiastic about supporting education and cultural exchange. No formal teaching qualification is required, however volunteers should feel confident communicating in English and engaging with students in a classroom environment.
Basic Requirements: Minimum age: 18 years old. English level: Proficient or advanced English is required as volunteers will assist with English teaching and communication practice. Police check: A CRB or police background check is required during the signup process. Passport: A valid passport is required for travel. Teaching qualifications: No formal teaching experience or certification is required.
Additional Requirements: A genuine interest in teaching and cultural exchange. Energy, patience and adaptability when working with students. Respect for local teachers, students and Vietnamese culture. Participants over the age of 65 must provide medical clearance confirming they are fit to travel. Participants under 18 must provide signed parental consent (adult accompaniment recommended). Travel and medical insurance covering the full duration of the program is mandatory. While not required, volunteers are welcome to bring small teaching materials such as games, books, flash cards or cultural items from their home country to support interactive classroom activities.
Where does the program start and finish?
If you arrive within the pickup window, a transfer coordinator will be waiting for you to arrange your transfer. A member of our local team will also contact you via WhatsApp beforehand to ensure we connect smoothly at the airport. You will then be taken to our TGL Ho Chi Minh Accommodation. This is where your program will start and finish. Whilst on your program you can arrange onwards travel with us.
Who will I be travelling with?
Whether you’re travelling solo or with a mate, you’ll meet like-minded travellers from all over the world. Group sizes vary with each program.
Do I need vaccinations?
Vaccines are recommended for Vietnam, consult a doctor for personalised advice based on what is best to get before coming. We recommend organising all vaccines at least 4-6 weeks before your trip.
Can I book extra nights?

Who can volunteer?
For this volunteer program we would love people with a genuine interest in teaching. We encourage everyone to try volunteering abroad who have a keen interest in culture, community and learning new life skills whilst making a difference. Respect, energy and the adaptability to work in a team and diverse environment is a must.
When is the best time to travel to Vietnam?
The best time to visit Vietnam is the dry season (November to May) for sunny, warm weather, especially November to February for cooler, less humid conditions. The wet season (June to October) offers lush green landscapes, fewer crowds, lower prices, and dramatic scenery, with rain often in short, heavy bursts, making it great for photographers and budget travellers who don’t mind getting wet.
Do I need a visa?
Yes, most foreign nationals need a visa for Vietnam, but you can easily get a tourist visa online (eVisa) or on arrival (Visa on Arrival) for short stays, valid for 30 days, though some nationalities might be exempt; always check official sources like Vietnam’s National Portal on Immigration or your government’s travel advisory for the latest rules.

What do I need to bring?
Comfortable shoes. Weather safety clothing such as hat, rain jacket and fleece sweater. Modest clothing for visiting temples. First-aid kit. Small day pack. Reusable water bottle. Passport and print off all visa, insurance and vaccinations. Toiletries (insect repellent and sunscreen!)
Can I volunteer with a dietary requirement?
Yes! We do our best to cater to dietary requirements. Make sure at the time of booking you tell us any dietary requirements so we can be prepared.
How do I book?

Once you book, we’ll send you a confirmation along with everything you need to prepare for your overseas volunteer program. If you’ve found the perfect volunteer project but aren’t ready to pay in full, you can secure your place today with a $300 AUD deposit. The remaining program balance is due 45 days before your departure date.
