Our Western Europe Adventure takes you from the canals of Venice to the streets of London by train, ticking off Rome, Florence, the French Riviera, Barcelona and Paris along the way. It’s a small-group trip with an epic Group Leader sorting the logistics, so you can focus on the gelato, the wine and the Ultimate moments. With 2-3 nights in every stop, you get time to actually enjoy each city, not just drive through it.

ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE

The 15-Night Western Europe Adventure is a two-week hit of Europe’s greatest hits – Renaissance cities, Mediterranean coastline and two of the world’s most famous capitals. You’ll ride Europe’s fast trains from Venice to Rome, taste your way through Tuscany, soak up the sun on the French Riviera, cook up tapas in Barcelona and toast the trip on a sunset cruise down the Seine, before the Eurostar rolls you into London.

Note: You’ll meet your fellow travellers in the group WhatsApp chat in the weeks before departure, then in person at the hostel in Venice on the evening of Day 1.

ABOUT YOU

This trip is built for travellers aged 18–30 who want to see the best of Western Europe in two weeks without organising a thing. Whether you’re travelling solo or with mates, it suits curious, social people after culture, food, nightlife and plenty of bucket-list moments – with enough free time to do your own thing.

TRAVEL STYLE

This is a social, small-group rail adventure (5–20 travellers plus your Group Leader). Your Group Leader handles the trains, seat reservations and check-ins, and runs the included activities, while you get free time in every city to explore at your own pace. Expect a few walks of up to 30 minutes with your backpack between stations and hostels – nothing too strenuous.

Your Venice hostel, early evening on Day 1 of the tour.

ARRIVAL INFO

Make your own way to the starting hostel in Venice on Day 1 and check in – your Group Leader will meet the group there in the early evening for a welcome catch-up. The tour finishes when the Eurostar arrives into London St Pancras in the late afternoon of Day 16. Once you’ve booked, we’ll send you all your pre-arrival tour information.

Book your flights into Venice and home from London (flights not included)

Days 1-2 | Venice

Ciao, Venice! Make your way to our centrally located hostel and meet your Group Leader and crew in the early evening – most of them you’ll already know from the WhatsApp group. Venice is a city built on water, and the best way to see it is to get lost: wander the back lanes, cross the little bridges and duck into a bacaro for cicchetti (Venetian tapas) and a spritz. Your included day trip to Burano Island is a highlight – think rainbow-painted houses, sleepy canals and fresh seafood straight from the lagoon. With extra time, tour the Doge’s Palace, check out the gold mosaics inside St Mark’s Basilica, or head into Cannaregio for a taste of real local life. From here, you’ll take the train to Rome, around 4 hours.

Days 3-4 | Rome

Welcome to the Eternal City, where there’s an ancient ruin on practically every corner and the pasta is worth the trip on its own. Rome is basically one giant open-air museum, so lace up your walking shoes and get amongst it. Your included visit to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel puts some of the world’s most famous art right in front of you – Michelangelo’s ceiling has to be seen to be believed. With extra time, step inside the Colosseum and Roman Forum, toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain, or spend an evening in Trastevere for aperitivo and the best carbonara of your life. From here, you’ll take the train to Florence, around 1.5 hours.

Days 5-6 | Florence

Florence is the birthplace of the Renaissance and one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. It’s compact and walkable, but packed with masterpieces – from Michelangelo’s David to Brunelleschi’s giant Duomo dome. The big Ultimate moment here is your included Chianti wine tasting tour, heading out into the rolling Tuscan hills to sample the region’s famous reds at two local vineyards, with food pairings along the way. With extra time, climb the Duomo for views over the terracotta rooftops, grab a lampredotto (or a safer panino!) at the Mercato Centrale, and watch the sunset from Piazzale Michelangelo. From here, you’ll take a bus to Nice, around 6 hours.

Days 7-9 | Nice

Hello, French Riviera! Nice is all turquoise water, pastel buildings and long lazy afternoons – the perfect place to slow the pace down. Spend your days on the pebble beaches, wander the colourful Old Town and fill up on socca and fresh pastries. Your included French Riviera day trip takes in the hilltop village of Èze, the glitz of Monte Carlo and the old-town charm of Antibes, with jaw-dropping coastal views the whole way. With extra time, catch the sunset along the Promenade des Anglais, head back to Monaco or over to Cannes, or just grab a spot on the beach and soak it all in. From here, you’ll take the train to Barcelona with two changes, around 9.5 hours.

Days 10-12 | Barcelona

Barcelona has it all – beach, big-city buzz, wild architecture and a food scene you’ll be talking about for years. Gaudí’s work is everywhere, from the Sagrada Família to the mosaic-covered Park Güell, and the Gothic Quarter is made for getting lost in. Your included tapas cooking class at one of the city’s top cooking schools teaches you how to whip up Spanish classics (and yes, you get to eat everything you make). With extra time, visit the Picasso Museum, spend an afternoon at Barceloneta Beach, or head to Carrer de Blai in Poble Sec for cheap pintxos away from the La Rambla crowds. From here, you’ll take the train to Paris, around 6 hours.

Days 13-15 | Paris

Bonjour, Paris! The City of Light is the perfect way to wrap up your adventure. Climb the Eiffel Tower, people-watch from a café terrace, get lost in the art at the Louvre and wander up to Montmartre and Sacré-Cœur for views over the whole city. Your included sunset cruise along the Seine is one of those Ultimate moments you won’t forget – gliding past Notre-Dame and the Eiffel Tower as the city lights come on. With extra time, catch a cabaret show at the Moulin Rouge, bar-hop through Le Marais, or stroll the Champs-Élysées up to the Arc de Triomphe. From here, you’ll board the Eurostar to London, around 3.5 hours.

Day 16 | London

Your adventure wraps up as the Eurostar pulls into London St Pancras in the late afternoon. If you’re flying home, allow plenty of time to get to the airport – Heathrow and Gatwick are both around an hour away. If you’re travelling within the UK by train, you can use your Interrail pass to get home. Not ready to say goodbye? We'll send you a booking confirmation as well as important information about your tour. You can make payments on your tour balance sooner, or regularly, via our website here. A non refundable 5.25% booking processing fee applies to each booking, calculated on the value of your booking.

Where does the tour start and finish?

The Western Europe Adventure starts in Venice and finishes in London. You’ll meet your Group Leader and the rest of your group at the hostel in Venice in the early evening of Day 1, and the tour finishes when the Eurostar arrives into London St Pancras in the late afternoon of Day 16.

What’s included in the trip?

Your tour includes 15 nights in top-rated hostels, a Group Leader throughout, all transport between cities (trains, a bus from Florence to Nice and the Eurostar to London), any Interrail or Eurail passes needed, all seat reservations, Travel Disruption Protection, and signature experiences including a Burano day trip, the Vatican Museums, a Chianti wine tour, a French Riviera day trip, a tapas cooking class and a Seine sunset cruise.

What’s the accommodation like?

You’ll stay in top-rated, centrally located hostels in shared, mixed-gender dorms with your fellow travellers. Every hostel is picked for location, cleanliness and atmosphere.

Is this trip right for solo travellers?

Absolutely – most travellers join solo. Shared dorms, group activities and the pre-departure WhatsApp group mean you’ll make mates fast. The trip is designed for 18–30 year olds who want a social trip without the planning.

Are flights included?

No, flights aren’t included. You’ll need to book a flight into Venice (Marco Polo airport is the closest) and home from London. If you arrive early, we can arrange extra nights in Venice for you.

Is travel insurance included?

Travel insurance isn’t included and is compulsory for this trip. Please organise your own cover before you depart.

How does payment work?

You’ll pay a 20% deposit at the time of booking to lock in your date, and your final balance is due 60 days before your tour starts.

Will I have free time to explore on my own?

Yes – alongside the included activities, you’ll have free time in every city to explore, shop, eat and do your own thing. Your Group Leader will have plenty of tips on where to go.

Are there optional activities I can book on tour?

Yes, each city has optional extras like the Colosseum, the Duomo climb, a Monaco day trip, Sagrada Família and the Louvre. Your Group Leader can help you sort them out on the road.

What happens if there’s a strike or transport disruption?

You’re covered by Travel Disruption Protection – if a strike or similar disruption affects the trip, alternative transport is arranged and included at no extra cost.

Can I extend my trip before or after the tour?

Yes – we can book extra nights in Venice before the tour or in London after it finishes, subject to availability. Just let us know when you book.
