Visit an Elephant sanctuary where you can interact with the elephants in their natural environment and learn about how the sanctuary cares for these beautiful animals. Trek through the jungle, learn about local customs and traditions and stay at an eco-resort in Chiang Mai. This experience is perfect for those wanting to explore the beautiful countryside of Northern Thailand and get up close with elephants in an Eco environment, where elephants are cared for.

  • 1 night home stay at Elephant Nature Park (Meals included)
  • Local guides who will provide you with heaps of information about the elephants and how to care for them
  • Transfers to and from the Elephant Nature Park.
BEFORE THE EXPERIENCE

You are free to arrive in at any time on your first day. Your airport transfer from Chiang Mai airport is not included but can be requested. Your first nights accommodation will be at Eco Resort Chiang Mai. Before the tour, make sure you have the necessary travel insurance and Visa to travel to Thailand . You must provide us with your arrival date, time and flight number to help us organise your airport transfer.

HOW TO BOOK

To book, select your chosen departure date and select if you require additional nights. Once you are booked, we will send you a booking confirmation as well as important information about your tour. Not Included: Chiang Mai airport transfers Flights into Chiang Mai Travel insurance (not included)

 

 This is not a group tour however you can expect to meet other travellers at our Elephant Nature Park.

Upon arrival to Chiang Mai, you will need to make your own way to the Eco Resort Chiang Mai  (or White Boutique Hotel and Spa)
to check in for your first night of the adventure.

DAY 2 Elephant Sanctuary

DAY 2 Elephant Sanctuary

This morning you get picked up from your hotel and after a beautiful drive through the countryside you’ll arrive at the Elephant Nature Park.

You will have the opportunity to learn all about the Elephant herd and watch the elephants bathe in the river that borders the park. Discover how to communicate with them and learn with our trained staff. Dinner and lunches at the park are casual affairs, the focus being on high quality locally grown produce prepared in Western and Eastern styles. Your stay is all about spending time with the herd and does not adhere to a strict schedule; the best way to make the most of your visit is to relax, watch and learn from the elephants.

DAY 3 Waterfall Hike

DAY 3 Waterfall Hike

After breakfast you can go on an elephant walk to see the elephants roaming in the open pasture. Upon returning to the Park , interact with the elephants and feed the herd. You will soon begin to identify different elephants by their shape, markings and attitude. Observe and enjoy the communications and interactions between these highly intelligent and loving herd elephants.

This afternoon, you will meet your driver, say goodbye to the jungle, and return to our accommodation in Chiang Mai.

DAY 4 Onward Travels

Your Chiang Mai adventure has come to an end and it’s time to check out and continue with your onward travel plans!

The Chiang Mai Elephant Experience starts and ends in Chiang Mai. 

 

Airport transfers are not included so you will need to make your own way to the first hotel. 

 

 

WHO WILL I BE TRAVELLING WITH?

The Chiang Mai Elephant Experience is not a group tour.  The Elephant Sanctuary is very social and you are bound to have opportunities to meet other travellers on this experience.  The tour is generally booked by singles or couples.

DO I NEED VACCINATIONS?

We recommend making an appointment with your GP to discuss which vaccinations will be needed for your trip.

The Hepatitis A vaccine is strongly recommended. Rabies pre-exposure vaccination may be an option, but not essential.

Malaria isn’t common in the areas we visit, but stock up on bug spray in Bangkok as there are other diseases such as Dengue that are more common.

We recommend organising all vaccines at least 4-6 weeks before your trip to Thailand.

CAN I BOOK EXTRA NIGHTS?

If you need additional nights before or after your trip, just add them to your booking when you checkout.

DO I NEED A VISA?

In some cases, yes, and the process is very easy!

Citizens of 41 different nationalities, including Australia, NZ, UK, USA and most of Europe, can enter Thailand without a pre-arranged visa. This ‘visa exemption’ allows you to stay 30 days when entering Thailand by air, and 15 days when crossing into Thailand by land.
