TRIP OVERVIEW

Swap the city for the Atlantic. Our 7 night Portugal Surf Camp is based in Costa da Caparica – a 30km stretch of golden beach just 20 minutes from Lisbon and 30 minutes from the airport. Whether you’ve never touched a board or you’re chasing green waves, you’ll get surf coaching in small groups (max 5 per instructor), family-style dinners, a pool to chill by and a full week of social activities. It’s built for solo travellers – around half the crew arrive on their own and leave with mates for life. Three surf houses on the same block, one big surf family. Eat. Surf. Repeat… with a day trip to Lisbon thrown in.

  • 7 nights accommodation – Stay in one of three surf houses on the same block in Costa da Caparica. Choose a shared dorm (4, 6 or 8 beds) or upgrade to a private double, twin or ensuite room. Pool, garden, outdoor showers, restaurant/bar and chill zones.
  • 7 breakfasts & 6 family-style dinners – Fresh breakfasts every morning and 3-course dinners (starter, main & dessert) shared around the big table. The 7th night is a group dinner out together.
  • Surf gear – Free use of surfboards and wetsuits all week – no need to bring anything but your swimmers.
  • Surf coaching for every level – Add a Standard (5 lessons) or Intensive (7 lessons) surf course. Small groups of max 5 students per certified instructor, from first-timers to green-wave surfers.

DAY 1: Welcome to Portugal

Land in Lisbon and make your way to Costa da Caparica (or jump in our airport transfer). Check in to the surf house, drop your bags, meet the crew by the pool and kick off the week with a welcome dinner.

DAY 2: First Waves

Breakfast, then down to the beach for your level check and first surf session with your coach. In the arvo, dial in your balance with some surf-skate training before a big family dinner.

DAY 3: Surf, Stretch & Sing

Morning surf, then stretch out those paddling arms with yoga on the deck. After dinner it’s karaoke night – no talent required.

DAY 4: Lisbon Day Out

Get your surf in early then head into Lisbon – cobbled streets, epic viewpoints, trams and pastéis de nata. Back to camp for dinner.

DAY 5: Surf & Wine

Another session in the water, some pool time to recover, then a Portuguese wine tasting in the evening. Saúde!

DAY 6: Paradise Beach

Road trip to Praia da Ribeira do Cavalo near Sesimbra – turquoise water and cliffs that look straight out of a postcard. Wrap the day with a sunset beach party.

DAY 7: Last Sessions

Breakfast. Surf. BBQ. Repeat. Make the most of your final day in the water, then head out for a group dinner with your new surf family.

Costa da Caparica, just 20 minutes from Lisbon and 30 minutes from Lisbon Airport. It’s a 30km stretch of golden Atlantic beach with waves for every level.

Nope! Most guests have never stood on a board. Your level is checked in your first session and you’ll be grouped with surfers at the same level – from total beginner through to free surf.

No. Beginner lessons are in waist-to-hip deep water with your coach right beside you, at your own pace.

It’s made for them – around 40–50% of guests come solo. Shared dinners, group lessons and nightly activities mean you’ll have a crew by day one.

The standard package is 7 nights / 8 days. You can also add extra weeks at a discount.

Your package includes:

Surf courses, yoga packs and airport transfers are optional add-ons.

Choose from shared dorms (4, 6 or 8 beds – the most social option), private doubles or twins with shared bathroom, superior ensuite rooms or triple ensuites. Everyone shares the pool, garden, restaurant and bar.

A maximum of 5, so you get real feedback on every wave. All instructors are certified with rescue training.

Yes – boards and wetsuits are free to use all week. The Atlantic sits around 15–22°C year-round, so just bring swimwear for under your wetsuit and a beach towel.

Breakfast every day and 6 family-style dinners (starter, main and dessert). Lunches and one dinner out per week are at your own cost – local meals cost around €10–20.

You can surf here year-round. June to September is warmest and most social, spring and autumn bring good swell and fewer crowds, and winter delivers the biggest waves for intermediate and advanced surfers.

Fly into Lisbon Airport (LIS). It’s 30–45 minutes by taxi, Uber or bus, or add our private transfer for €35 per way (up to 3 people per car).

Yes – there’s WiFi and quiet work areas, so it’s easy to mix some laptop time with your surf.
