Your journey begins in Nadi, where you’ll spend your first night at Smugglers Cove getting settled before heading out. From Port Denarau, you’ll make your way north through the breathtaking Yasawas, island-hopping between backpacker-favourite resorts in the Yasawa Gateway, Blue Lagoon and Manta Ray regions. Expect white-sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, hammocks strung by the ocean, sunset drinks, and evenings spent trading stories with fellow travellers from around the globe.
Best of all, it’s self-guided – so the pace is up to you. Sleep in, spend the afternoon snorkelling, or dive into activities whenever the mood strikes. With dorm accommodation, all transfers taken care of, and a solid lineup of included activities included, the ferries, planning and logistics are sorted so you can focus on living island life. Explore vibrant reefs, cruise between islands, soak up traditional Fijian culture, and – if the timing’s right – swim alongside manta rays near Manta Ray Island.

Bula – Welcome to Fiji! As part of your arrival pack you will be greeted by an Awesome Adventures Fiji representative upon arrival ready for your hotel transfer to Smugglers Cove. Here you will meet any fellow travellers and enjoy a free evening to get settled! You’ll also receive your complimentary sarong, drink bottle and drawstring bag. The next morning you’ll be taken to Port Denarau ready for your Fiji adventure to truly begin.
Spend the next couple of days exploring the breath-taking Yasawa region staying in the Barefoot Kuata resort (or similar). Here you have free time to relax, sunbathe, treat yourself to a couple of local beers if you wish! Activities include a guided snorkelling adventure with reef sharks or the unique night-time snorkel trip!
Travel north up to the world famous Blue Lagoon Region and spend the arvo exploring the unreal scenery at your leisure. This segment includes a guided trip to the distinctive Sawa-i-lau caves where you’ll learn all about the ancient rock formations and hidden secrets within!
The 6th day of your Fiji adventure starts with a morning transfer to Manta Ray Region. You’ll have the rest of today to explore and have some free time. The next few days have some action packed activities, including a bucket-list guided swim with Manta Rays, a visit to a local Fijian village, a marine conservation safari and a evening tubing cruise where you can float with your new pals and watch the sunset with an ice cold beverage!
Today you’ll return to the beautiful Yasawa Gateway Region, this time staying in the Octopus resort (or similar). For your last few days you’ll fill your time sunbathing and with once in a lifetime activities such as a guided hike up the volcanic peaks at sunset to witness the incredible views and partake in a traditional Fijian cooking class knocking up some unique dishes. Finally your package includes a full day pass to the unique Malamala Beach Club which is the world’s first beach club to have it’s very own island!
The final day of your tour is your Departure Pack. A representative will pick you up from Port Denarau and transfer you to your included accommodation in Smugglers Cove. The next morning you will be dropped off at Nadi International Airport ready for your next adventure! If you can bring yourself to leave yet, let us know and we can extend your stay in paradise!

Are there meals included?
Meals are NOT included and are at your own cost throughout the trip. Meals in Fiji: These are all payable to each resort upon arrival. We recommend budgeting approximately $100-$120 AUD per day for food and drink costs.
Where does the tour start and finish?
The 10 Day Fiji tour starts and ends in Smugglers Cove. It includes an Arrival Pack with airport transfer, local Fiji arrival gifts and a night’s stay in Smugglers Cove both pre- and post-island hopping.
Who will I be travelling with?
You’ll be travelling solo, but may cross paths with 18-30-somethings from all over the world — this is a self-guided itinerary with a dedicated customer service team on hand.
Where will I be staying?
Dorm rooms in resort accommodation. Mention if travelling with a mate and they’ll try to room you together; private double upgrades available.
Can I book extra nights?
Yes, add additional nights before or after your trip to your booking at checkout.
What is the currency and do I need cash for the islands?
The currency is the Fijian Dollar. Most resorts prefer cashless payment, but it’s advisable to carry some cash — ATMs are only at Nadi Airport and Port Denarau.
Do I need a visa to travel to Fiji?
In most cases, no, if from a visa-exempt country (check the Fiji Immigration website). You’ll need a passport valid 6+ months beyond travel, a departing flight ticket, and a confirmed address in Fiji (Smugglers Cove works).
Is this a guided tour?
No, it’s a self-guided trip — Awesome Fiji handles accommodation and transfers, and the rest is up to you and your travel buddies.
What happens after I book?

Is airport transfer included on arrival/departure?
Yes, included both ways. Provide flight arrival date, time and flight number at least 14 days before the tour starts; Awesome Fiji Adventures sends detailed arrival information two weeks prior.
