WHERE DOES THE TOUR START AND FINISH?
The Peru Adventure tour starts in Lima in Peru and finishes in La Paz in Bolivia.
Your welcome meeting is at 2 pm (Hotel Santa Cruz), so make sure you’ll arrive on time.
WHO WILL I BE TRAVELLING WITH?
Whether you’re travelling solo or with friends, you’ll be travelling alongside like-minded adventurers from around the world. With a maximum group size of 16 travellers, the trip keeps a fun and social atmosphere while still feeling personal and connected throughout the journey.
DO I NEED VACCINATIONS?
Vaccinations are not compulsory for this trip, but some are strongly recommended depending on your travel plans and medical history. We recommend visiting your doctor or travel clinic before departure for the latest advice on recommended vaccinations and health precautions for Peru and Bolivia.
Travellers visiting the Amazon region may also wish to discuss malaria prevention and yellow fever vaccinations with a medical professional. It’s your responsibility to check the latest health requirements before travelling.
CAN I BOOK EXTRA NIGHTS?
Yes, extra accommodation before or after the tour can usually be arranged.
DO I NEED A VISA?
Visa requirements for this trip depend on your nationality and the countries you are travelling through, as this tour visits Peru and Bolivia. Some travellers may require visas or entry permits, while others may be eligible for visa-free entry or visas on arrival.
It’s your responsibility to check the latest visa, passport and entry requirements with the relevant embassies or consulates before travelling, including any transit or border crossing requirements.
CAN I BRING A 25KG SUITCASE?
We recommend packing light and travelling with a backpack or soft travel bag, as this trip includes multiple destinations, overnight transport and some active travel sections along the way. A bag around 15–20kg is generally the most practical option for the adventure.
Although you can bring a 25kg suitcase, larger hard-shell luggage can be more difficult to manage during transfers, trekking sections and in destinations with uneven streets or limited luggage space. Travellers should be able to comfortably carry and handle their own bags throughout the trip.
CAN YOU CATER FOR DIETARY REQUIREMENTS?
Most dietary requirements can be catered for on this trip, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free diets, provided they are advised in advance at the time of booking.
Please keep in mind that food options may be more limited in remote areas, during homestays and throughout trekking or jungle sections of the tour, particularly in the Amazon and high-altitude regions.
CAN YOU HELP ME ORGANISE FLIGHTS & INSURANCE?
HOW PHYSICAL IS THE TOUR?
A moderate level of fitness is recommended for this trip. Travellers should be comfortable with walking, hiking, long travel days and spending time at high altitude, particularly around Cusco, Lake Titicaca and trekking routes to Machu Picchu.
The Inca Trail and Quarry Trail options are physically demanding and involve several days of hiking at altitude, uneven terrain and steep sections. Travellers choosing the train option to Machu Picchu can enjoy a less physically challenging experience while still visiting the famous site.
WILL I EXPERIENCE ALTITUDE SICKNESS?
Some destinations on this trip are located at high altitude, including Cusco, Lake Titicaca and La Paz. Symptoms can affect travellers differently, so it’s important to stay hydrated, avoid overexertion and allow time to acclimatise.
WHAT OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES CAN I DO?
Optional activities may include mountain biking, local cooking classes, nightlife experiences, museum visits, hiking experiences and additional excursions in destinations like Cusco and La Paz.
