One of the absolute highlights is an unforgettable night camping on the Great Wall of China: a once-in-a-lifetime experience under the stars.
If you’re after a bit more comfort after action-packed days of exploring, room upgrades are available throughout the tour for a more private and relaxed stay. Just request this at the time of booking.
Please note, accommodation in Hong Kong is in mixed-gender dorms, while in Mainland China hostel rooms are gender-specific for cultural consistency.

The amount of money you should bring will depend upon the total length of your holiday and your spending habits. It’s very easy to get by in China for $450 - $600 - for the duration of your trip. This will cover your food, souvenirs and fun! However, try and budget for the higher end of this – it’s a once in a lifetime trip, so make the most of it!
We recommend bringing a debit card / travel money card with you with so you can withdraw cash as you go. ATMs are available throughout the country.
Alternatively, you can bring local currency to exchange when you arrive - your group leader can help you find somewhere, no problem. Try to only get out enough to cover you a few days at a time so you're not carrying around lots of cash.
China is a vast, year-round destination, but the best time to travel the classic Hong Kong to Beijing route is generally spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October). These periods offer the most comfortable conditions, with milder temperatures, clearer skies, and fewer extremes between the warmer south and the more continental north.
Hong Kong is typically warm and subtropical year-round, while Beijing experiences much hotter summers and colder, dry winters.
Winter (November to February) is a quieter time to travel China, however it's definitely a unique time to see iconic sights like the Great Wall under snow and experience major cities with far fewer tourists.
