In Sydney the Summer months run from December to February, but warm, beautiful weather can be experienced all year round. Ultimate Thailand is limited to people aged between 18 – 35 years of age. We welcome people from any country. We accommodate solo travelers, couples as well as small groups of mates.
Ultimate Thailand is perfect for people travelling alone! You’re surrounded by other like-minded travellers for the duration of the trip, you’ll be mates for life with your group by the end! Members of the group even tend to stick together after the tour as they continue their travels through SE Asia!
The tour begins in Bangkok, so you are more than welcome to arrive at either of the two International Airports, Don Mueang (DMK) or Suvarnabhumi (BKK). BKK is the new one and is a little closer to the city but arriving at either one is absolutely fine.
Your tour finishes on the beautiful island of Koh Phangan however, flights are generally cheaper if you were to get a return flight from Bangkok, you would just have to make your way back to Bangkok from Koh Phangan once the tour is over, but we can help with that! See ‘What Will Happen After my Tour’ for more details.
The amount of money you should bring will depend upon the total length of your holiday and your spending habits. It’s very easy to get by in Thailand for as little as $20 per day. This will cover your food, basic accommodation and having fun. However, try and budget for at least $50 per day – it’s a once in a lifetime trip, so make the most of it.
Thailand is a very safe place to visit, as long as you follow some basic health and safety guidelines and have respect for the local people and culture. The most common dangers in Thailand are sunburn, dehydration and hangovers, however travelling in a group with Ultimate Thailand makes it even safer! Our tour guides have travelled Thailand extensively, and will share their experience, and local knowledge to ensure your safety throughout the trip and beyond.
Of course! You can pre-book extra nights in Bangkok if you’re arriving early, and also extend your stay in Koh Phangan with us. You can add this on via your booking, get in contact with us or organise them with your group leader while in Thailand. There may be opportunities to add on optional activities throughout your tour to add to your experience, you can speak with your group leader to get more details!
Yes, you sure do! Purchase a travel insurance policy to ensure you’re covered in case anything unexpected happens. Click here to get started.
Yes, that’s totally fine. We can book extra nights of accommodation for you and help you arrange activities to do in Bangkok when you arrive.
No worries if your flights are delayed, just email us or give us a ring. We will let the guest house know and arrange an adjusted airport pick up!Please can change and we'll do our best to help. Check out our full booking policy here.
Your Ultimate Thailand Tour Guides will do their best to keep you safe and healthy in Thailand. However, one dodgy mosquito bite or a bad case of the runs could ruin your holiday (and your pulling-potential!), so it pays to take a few sensible precautions. The following is a rough guide for vaccinations in Thailand, so we suggest seeing a GP with expertise in travel medicine who can review your individual health issues.Don’t forget to ask for numbing cream if you’re worried about pain from the injection. You are strongly recommended to have Hepatitis A vaccine (Hep-A sucks big-time!) You may also need Typhoid vaccination (Good for nasty stomach bugs) Rabies pre-exposure vaccination may be an option, but not essential Malaria isn’t common the areas we visit, but stock-up on bug-spray in Bangkok as there are other diseases such as Dengue that are more common. Ideally you should organise all this about 4-6 weeks before departure, but it is never too late.
Ultimate Thailand starts in Bangkok.
You can choose to fly into either of the two International Airports, Don Mueang (DMK) or Suvarnabhumi (BKK). Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) is the newer airport of the two and is a little closer to the city.
Return flights to Bangkok are generally cheaper than organising a flight one-way. Our tour ends in Koh Phangan but your guide will be able to advise you on the best way to get back to Bangkok for your flight, and help you organise the transfer!
Thailand is a great country to visit all year round! As the country is so vast different weather systems spread out across the region. So if you're visiting at a certain time of the year and the weather is due to be hot and dry in Bangkok, you may experience a little rain in the southern islands. Not to worry though, if rain does occur it usually does not last very long and can be a relief from the heat!
The local currency in Thailand is Thai Baht (THB). The amount of money you should bring will depend upon the total length of your holiday and your spending habits. It’s very easy to get by in Thailand for $300 - $600 a week. This will cover your food, souvenirs and fun! However, try and budget for the higher end of this – it’s a once in a lifetime trip, so make the most of it!
We recommend bringing a debit card / travel money card with you with so you can withdraw cash as you go. ATMs are available throughout Thailand. Alternatively, you can bring local currency to exchange when you arrive - your group leader can help you find somewhere, no problem. Try to only get out enough to cover you a few days at a time so you're not carrying around lots of cash.
Your Ultimate Thailand tour ends in Koh Phangan, home of the legendary Full Moon Party! Many tour dates coincide with the Full Moon Party and if it DOES line-up then we’re sure your group will be going. View our guide to the Full Moon Party. There is also the Half-Moon Party in the middle of the jungle which is amazing and if that lines up then we tend to go to that one too! If the tour does not line-up with any “official” party, no need to worry! We always organise Ultimate parties for you in Koh Phangan regardless!
Some Ultimate Thailand tour dates coincide with the Full Moon Party. If your tour lines up with a Full Moon Party we'll make sure your group can attend.
There are also some epic Half-Moon parties on the island that take place in the middle of the jungle! If your tour dates align, we'll also give you the option to join the party!
If your Ultimate Thailand tour does not line-up with any “official” Full Moon parties, no need to worry! We always organise Ultimate parties for you in Koh Phangan regardless!
Check out our guide to the Koh Phangan Full Moon Party here.
Ultimate Vietnam is aimed towards travellers aged between 18 to 35 years old wanting to explore the very best of Northern and Southern Vietnam in 14 days. This fully guided, group tour will show you the best spots in Vietnam with the ease of travelling as a group.
Whether you’re travelling solo or with a mate, you’ll meet like-minded travellers from all over the world. Group sizes vary with each tour however we like to keep things fun yet personal so you’ll be travelling with no more than 30 others.
A total of 13-nights accommodation is included, each offering a unique experience in Vietnam! You’ll be staying in a combination of budget hostels/hotels, a Vietnamese cruise Boat, huts on our private island & an overnight sleeper bus.
The Ultimate Vietnam tour starts in Hanoi and ends on the Ho Chi Minh.
You should book your flights into Hanoi (HAN Airport) and out of Ho Chi Minh (SGN)
Nobody wants a bowl of Pho, a bite of Bánh Mì or a bite from a mosquito to ruin the trip of a lifetime … so plan ahead and get your vaccinations sorted before you make the trip. This is a rough guide to want you have to plan against with Vietnam in mind and some of the vaccinations listed are taken care of during childhood so check with your GP before you go and book anything, just to make sure you need the jabs!
- Hepatitis A and B – two separate diseases with a vaccination that can be taken together or separately. Both diseases are pretty awful so tick this one off!
- Typhoid – highly recommended and transmitted by dodgy food or water. Get it and forget about it!
- Tetanus, Pertussis & Diphtheria – It’s best to have an updated tetanus jab and the others come along with the package.
- Measles Mumps and Rubella – one of the childhood immunisations that you might not need so check your immunisation record with your GP.
- Flu – get a flu shot if you think it’s necessary or ask your doctor for more information.
- Malaria – inland Vietnam has malaria whilst the coast doesn’t.
There are a couple more that can be recommended but aren’t essential so we’ll say it again – check with your GP!
Ideally, you should organise all this plus a trip to your GP 6 to 8 weeks before your departure. Some vaccination need 2 or more shots.
If you need additional nights before or after your trip, just add them to your booking when you checkout.
Not sure if you need extra nights? Get in touchto chat with a member of the crew before or after you book.
Vietnam is a safe place to visit, as long as you follow some basic health and safety guidelines and have respect for the local people and culture. The most common dangers in Vietnam are sunburn, dehydration and hangovers, however travelling in a group with Ultimate Vietnam makes it even safer! Our tour guides have travelled extensively, and will share their experience, local knowledge hangover-cures with you.
Airport transfer is not included in your trip. However, if you add our Hanoi Welcome Pack (see below for more details) onto your booking then we can organise the transfer for you! You’ll just need to let us know if you would like to add the pack and make sure you let us know your flight arrival date, time and flight number at least 14 days before your tour is due to start. Two weeks before your tour we will send you an email with detailed information about your arrival in Vietnam, airport transfer, accommodation and where to meet your group.
Vietnam, although not very geographically wide, is quite a long country, which means there are quite a few weather systems at play. That being said, Vietnam is awesome to travel to throughout the year. The weather can vary from hot and humid, cooler and dry, some rain, and plenty of sunny days!
Once your tour finishes you are free to explore more of Vietnam, South East Asia or head back home. Whatever your plans your group leader can help organise and book your onward travel. They are travellers themselves so have extensive knowledge in travelling this side of the world. When arranging your onward flights (either home or to more adventures!), there is not much of a restriction as to when you can organise it for as it only takes approx. 30 minutes to get there from the city, so feel free to depart anytime! We do recommend to aim to depart after midday though so you have time to have breakfast and say your goodbyes. Sometimes it can be cheaper to do a return ticket in and out of Hanoi so if that’s the case just give yourself an extra day at the end of the tour and you can jump on an internal flight up to Hanoi to catch your onward flight.
If you would like to make your arrival to Vietnam as smooth as possible, you can add the Hanoi Welcome Pack to your booking to receive an airport transfer and a visa invitation letter. We will organise the airport transfer for when your flight arrives and our representative will be waiting at the airport. They will take you to the first hotel we stay in Hanoi.
If you are not pre-arranging your own visa, you’ll also get a visa invitation letter sent to you a week before your tour. For us to apply for this, you will need to let us know what type you require, and we need your full passport details. See ‘What information do I need to provide?’ for more details.
