Tour Departure
A compulsory tour safety briefing takes place at 7:00am at Freedom Hostels Rainbow Beach

Rainbow Beach Accommodation (Before & After Your Tour)
We recommend Freedom Rainbow Beach for accommodation before and after your tour. Located in the heart of Rainbow Beach, this budget-friendly resort offers a range of accommodation options to suit every traveller, including comfortable two-bedroom self-contained apartments, family rooms, private double or twin rooms, and dorm accommodation.
With excellent facilities and great value, Freedom Rainbow Beach is ideal for families, couples, and independent travellers.
Please Note
- This is a participatory tour. All travellers are expected to get involved with basic tasks such as cooking and cleaning. All food, cooking equipment, and camping gear are provided. Getting involved is part of the experience and a great way to bond with your group.
- Age suitability: This tour is suitable for travellers aged 18–35 only. If you fall outside this age range and would like to join, please contact us prior to booking.
- Itinerary flexibility: The itinerary is subject to change due to tides and weather conditions. Arrival times on K’gari are tide-dependent, and a mainland activity may be included before boarding the barge. Your guide will confirm the final itinerary and daily activities at the start of the tour.

HOW TO BOOK
To book the K’gari (Fraser Island) Adventure, select your preferred departure date and any optional extras during the booking process. Once confirmed, you’ll receive your booking confirmation along with all essential pre-departure information to help you prepare for the tour.
PAYMENT TERMS
Full payment is required at the time of booking. Your place on the tour is not confirmed until payment has been received.
FLIGHTS, TRANSPORT, INSURANCE & VISA INFO
Travel to Rainbow Beach is not included. You can compare flight prices here or arrange coach travel independently.
A compulsory tour safety briefing takes place at 7:00am on the morning of departure at Freedom Hostels Rainbow Beach.
Travel insurance is not included. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance. You can get a quote from our recommended travel insurance partners here.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING
Comfortable clothing and footwear, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, swimwear, towel, refillable water bottle, camera, and a small day bag only.
A valid driver’s licence is required for guests who wish to drive a 4WD during the tour.
LOCAL FEES & OPTIONAL EXTRAS
Sleeping bag hire: $15.00 (optional)
K’gari vehicle insurance fee: $30.00 (mandatory – paid direct)
REFUND POLICY
Refunds are processed according to the following cancellation timeframes:
- Cancellations made within 7 days of the tour start date incur a 100% cancellation fee
